Rack Sack Installation Guide

Installing your Rack Sack system is quick and effortless. Designed to fit most standard lower cabinet doors, each unit helps you keep your kitchen organized and waste hidden — so your space looks cleaner and feels more functional.

Before You Begin

Before starting, make sure your Rack Sack package includes:

  • Plastic lid (with 5 refill bags inside)

  • 1 pack of 4 screws

  • Upper Lid Frame (ULF) with attached Backer Plate Frame (BPF)

  • Lower Bag Support (LBS) with extendable frame

Check your cabinet door:

  • Door thickness should be at least 3/8″ (1.1 cm)

  • You’ll need 18″ of vertical clearance for the compact rack and 12″ of vertical clearance for the super compact one.

  • Leave at least 7″–8.5″ depth clearance so the lid doesn’t hit the sink

If your cabinet door is too thin, you can attach a thin plywood backer panel for support.

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1 – Mount the Rack Sack

  • Open your cabinet door and hold the Backer Plate Frame (BPF) flush against it.

  • Use the provided screws to secure it in place — pre-sinking the holes halfway makes tightening easier later.

  • Double-check that the frame is level and that your lid will clear the sink.

(Pro tip: If your door is made of dense particleboard, drill small starter holes about 1/8” deep to avoid cracking.)

Step 2 – Connect the Frame

  • Swing the Upper Lid Frame (ULF) upward and insert its side arms through the holes on the Backer Plate Frame (BPF).

  • Attach the Lower Bag Support (LBS) by sliding it into the grooves until it fits snugly.

For the Compact model, choose your preferred size during installation:

  • Hook onto the lower bar for 5-gallon (21L) capacity

  • Hook onto the upper bar for 3-gallon (15L) capacity

Step 3 – Attach the Lid

  • Take the plastic lid and insert one pivot arm into one side of the frame, then the other.

  • You may need to bend the lid edge slightly to guide the second pivot arm into place.

  • If your lid doesn’t stay open, gently bend the pivot arm back toward the cupboard door with pliers.

Step 4 – Add the Bag

  • Open the storage compartment on top of the lid.

  • Remove one Rack Sack bag, wrap the top around the frame, and hook the handles onto the side clips for a secure fit.

You’re ready to go! Your Rack Sack is now installed and ready to simplify your waste management.

Helpful Tips

  • If you prefer a no-drill setup, you can use strong double-sided tape (not included).

  • Always ensure screws don’t penetrate through to the cabinet front.

  • Use Rack Sack refill bags for a perfect fit and optimal performance.
